Datestamped photos seemed a great idea until your camera's date setting is one year late. Then, you had to explain the photos when somebody asks "Hey, you were in Japan in 2007? Weren't you here in Cebu that year?" Hmm. Rather than answer this datestamp snafu forever, I decided to simply add information to the photograph by overprinting "8" on top of 2007. That way I would be saying that I was a "newbie" with a new camera.
Maybe when I finally buy a Nikon D3 I should commemorate the event by doing the same thing. Hmm. It's a little nerdy, but hey, it's my camera (i.e., my new camera in the future). Anyway, I just finished uploading the first of my "newbie" photos—our sightseeing trip to Osaka Castle.
