Website Blueprint

I need a kind of blueprint or a visual of the website(s) I'm creating. Come to think of it, I need blueprints for all my projects and activities. It seems that the concept of the blueprint is the missing link in my solutions to the productivity problem.

Of all the diagramming techniques I am aware of, the mind map is apparently the most appropriate. I came to this conclusion last night, but I needed to sleep on it before committing myself to this solution.

I downloaded several sample mind maps months ago. (Note: The original site has been modified somewhat. Apparently, the domain studymatrixart.com will now redirect to iqmatrix.com.)

Mind Mapping Artwork
Of several mind mapping software I can find on the internet, I was able to evaluate Buzan's iMindMap software, the open source yEd Graph Editor and the free Java software, Freemind. Of the three, yEd Graph Editor came close to what I needed. However, ...

During the past semester at law school, I used yEd Graph Editor to create a visual of the different legal concepts I needed to study. It would have been perfect, but I'm used to thinking in terms of sheets of paper. Unfortunately, the yEd diagram is dynamic and will resize itself in several ways.

I just need to create mind maps and improve them over time. So, a static diagram on a page is what I really needed. Because of this, I decided to simply use Visio.

* Wow. It took me two hours to write this. Mental note: Think fast, write fast.
