Going Digital

Every year, I buy an appointment book or diary. If I'm feeling optimistic for the coming year, I buy a handbook-size diary because I anticipate that I will do a lot of writing and I will have lots of appointments to keep. Of course, I buy a small pocket-size diary if I feel pessimistic that luck is forthcoming.

Today, I bought a pocket-size diary, but not for my usual reasons. I bought a pocket-size diary because I feel the need for speed. I feel a sense of urgency for this coming year. So, I've decided that I will be fully digital and mobile in 2009—working with electronic copies of information and working from anywhere I can connect to the web.

So far, I already acquired a growing number of blogs and signed up for various web services to build my information system in cyberspace. Finally, technology is catching up with the ideas in my head.
